GWO fundraiser-"rules"
fundraiser "rules" updated
1-the time starts from the time stamped on original post
2-Everyone has 24 hours from when item is posted to bid. Item goes to highest bidder
3-if no one bids before the 24 hours is up, item goes to 1st bidder
4-please have item paid for and delivered in a 3 week period from when it was first posted
Taking everyone's opinions in consideration from a previous gwo fundraiser thread, I think the following is the best way to do this, so here it goes....
if you want to donate an item, like you would if we were doing an auction, then start a thread and title it with the item description and then -gwo fundraiser- For example, I just posted,
book mark -gwo fundraiser-
a manager will sticky it as soon as they see it and it will stay sticky up to 1 week until sold. Once it has been sold, paid for, sent, and received, I will then move the thread over to GWO fundraiser side board. This side board will be more a de-clutter zone then a place for you to look for items to purchase, keep that in mind.
please state starting bid, who pays shipping, if your item is ready to mail or custom made. If custom made you have 3 weeks to finish item from when you post it. Post all items by May 15(Roni, how far in advance do you let everyone know how much GWO will cost? is that plenty of time to figure out finance side of GWO?)
As for who gets to purchase item, it was discussed that we shouldn't drag it out like we would a 3 day auction, but I also don't think it should go to first come first serve as some had stated, for 1-not everyone is on at the same time, and 2-it's a fundraiser, the more money we make the better.
For now, until we feel it should be done differently, it will go as follows
1-the time starts from the time stamped on original post
2- all bids end after 12 hours from time stamped
3- THOSE that had bid in the first 12 hours, get an additional 12 hours to up their bid, item goes to highest bidder.
4- if no one post before the 12 hours from original post time stamped then item goes to 1st bidder.
fair enough? I don't know, I'm not sure how to make it fair for all when at times we can each see fair differently.

Re: GWO fundraiser-"rules"
Speaking of GWO - I am hosting, but wondering how a plan is created other than the location? As in, how do we determine what to do, eat etc? Anyone? Anyone?

Re: GWO fundraiser-"rules"
I cannot determine the cost of GWO until I know the cost of the food. That is usually determined about a month before GWO. If anyone wants to take that on and start planning the menu and initial pricing to make that go faster, feel free to volunteer.
We usually start taking volunteers a couple months ahead of time.
Emily, I will need to know from you the cost to displace your family and the cost to have your house cleaned afterwards if that is a service you want.
Generally speaking, the plan has usually been...
Thursday--opening ceremonies (lately it has been less ceremonious) and getting to know you
Friday--Site seeing, temple, hanging out with game night or other organized activity in the evening
Saturday--Super Saturday when we have chosen to do that, closing ceremonies
Sunday--eat and go
Anyone is welcome to add what I have missed.

Re: GWO fundraiser-"rules"
I did food 2 years ago, it was fun, and I got to decide what we ate, bahaha.
being pregnant and due July 27th, I don't want to volunteer to come up with menu or shop, but I will gladly help as I can.
I have a costco card and van. the Costco is close to Emily. There is a walmart across the street from costco too. I also use a website that post ads for 15 different stores so I can price match most of our food, especially produce.
Emily, what kind of refrigeration storage will there be? do you have a deep freezer? did you say you have a fridge in the garage? would the person that does the shopping be able to do it Wednesday or early morning Thursday and drop it off at your house?
